TurboRAN Software

TurboRAN network entities use a combination of commercial LTE protocol stacks to enable testing of state-of-the-art Zero Touch Automation solutions, and open source LTE protocol stacks to enable development of solutions for future cellular networks. The network can be configured, monitored and logged using the following software.

Web Interface:

TurboRAN features a GUI based web interface developed by Amarisoft

  • Web Interface is a HTML5 graphical user interface.
  • Analyze Amarisoft LTE software logs and get information from the system
  • Communicate using WebSocket for real time analysis
  • Interact with LTE UE simulator to generate and execute scenario
  • Display logs from files
  • Display logs in real time through WebSocket
  • Display physical layer statistics in charts
  • Display resource block allocation
  • Support of real time constellation display
  • Support and display of per cell analytics
  • Support of ZIP files for opening and exporting logs
  • Support of wireshark for extended message decoding (SMS, IP)
  • Configure UE simulation scenario and execute them

Command Line Interface:

TurboRAN features a command line interface developed by Amarisoft

  • Obtaining the real time status and statistics including configuration information, statistics and network traces. Statistic include number of connected UEs and the corresponding cells, SNR, MCS, TA, CQI, bit rate and more.
  • Changing network configuration and parameters including cell gain, handover related parameters, frequency band allocation, cell neighboring relations etc.

Remote API:

  • Based on standard WebSocket protocol, supporting use of any language (e.g, Python, Perl etc)
  • Enables access to network logs, remote monitoring and configuration of the network
  • Enables network automation via scripts

Data Lake and Data logging Application:

In order to resolve the issue of online real-time data gathering from the mobiles, a data logging app and an online data base was designed and developed inhouse

  • The app logs the network performance data and GPS location of the mobile and transmits it instantly to the online database via the internet.
  • The mobiles when connected to the TurboRAN network, have access to the internet data. In case when internet is not available, the data is buffered and transmitted when internet is available again.
  • A snapshot of the web interface as well the android application is shown in the Figure below.
  • Presently, we are able to log RSRP, RSRQ, Timing Advance, Cell id, BS id, location, mobile device id and date & time at which the data was gathered.
